Custom Loungewear Wholesale

What Wholesale Loungewear Buyers Actually Order

Loungewear as a wholesale category covers more ground than the name implies. Buyers ordering under this category range from boutique owners building a cozy-season assortment to Amazon sellers building a private label SKU to subscription box operators who need 500 identical sets in a single colorway. The product mix they order is fairly consistent — but what varies significantly is the priority each buyer type puts on customization, price per unit, and lead time.

Jogger Sets Wholesale

The highest-volume item in our loungewear wholesale program. A jogger set — matching drawstring jogger pants and either a crew neck sweatshirt or zip hoodie — is the core SKU for boutique buyers and Amazon private label sellers alike. We produce the top and bottom from the same fabric batch to ensure color matching, which matters more than most buyers realize until they receive mismatched sets from a supplier who doesn’t control this. Waistband options: ribbed, banded, or fold-over; cuffs: ribbed with covered elastic. Standard inseam lengths available for US/EU markets separately.

Lounge Shorts Wholesale

Sold as separates or coordinated with a matching top. Elastic waist with internal drawstring is standard; terry towelling shorts and ribbed-hem styles are available as alternatives. Lounge shorts are a popular add-on SKU for wellness brands and subscription boxes that already carry a top — the unit economics at 100 pcs are better for shorts than for a full set because fabric consumption is lower. Typical buyer: boutiques and Amazon sellers testing a new colorway before committing to full sets.

Oversized Hoodies for Loungewear

The bridge between our sweatshirts wholesale program and the loungewear category. Oversized hoodies in the loungewear context typically run 1–2 sizes larger than streetwear oversized fits and are made in lighter GSM fabrics (240–280gsm) to read as loungewear rather than outerwear. Drop-shoulder construction, extended hem, and relaxed sleeve are the standard spec. These are particularly common with gym and wellness brands building a recovery/rest-day assortment.

Matching Sets for Gifting & Resale

A distinct category from jogger sets — matching sets here refers to coordinated top-and-bottom combinations designed for gift-ready packaging: boxed sets, tied with ribbon, with custom tissue inside. The buyer profile is different: gift retailers, subscription box operators, and brands launching a holiday SKU. These orders typically have stricter packaging requirements and come in at 200+ pcs per colorway because the packaging tooling cost (custom box, tissue, ribbon) needs volume to amortize. We run these as a sub-program with a dedicated packaging sourcing step in the lead time.

Who Is Actually Buying Wholesale Loungewear

The buyer mix we work with is specific enough to be worth naming rather than describing generically:

Independent Boutiques
Typically ordering 100–200 pcs per color, 2–4 styles per season. Priority: margin per unit and delivery reliability. Usually starting with stock colorways before requesting custom dyes.
Amazon Private Label Sellers
Ordering 150–500 pcs per colorway for FBA replenishment. Priority: consistent unit cost, repeatable quality across reorders, and lead time predictability to avoid stockouts.
Subscription Box Operators
Single large runs — 300–1,000+ pcs of one item for a specific box cycle. Priority: exact color match to other box contents, on-time delivery to a fixed ship date, gift packaging compliance.
Gym & Wellness Brands
Smaller initial orders (100–250 pcs), typically building a rest-day or recovery collection alongside activewear. Priority: coordinated colorways with existing activewear line, low MOQ for seasonal testing.

Private Label Loungewear: The Wholesale Upgrade

Stock wholesale and private label loungewear are not the same product at a different price point — they are different value propositions with different operational requirements. Understanding that distinction before you place your first order saves time on both sides.

Stock wholesale means you receive garments with our factory blank label or a plain white label. You can add your own hangtag, fold and bag it yourself, and sell it as your brand. That works at 100 pcs per colorway and costs the least upfront. Private label loungewear means the woven neck label, care label, hangtag, and polybag all carry your brand — the finished garment has no visible reference to the factory. The MOQ for private label starts at 200 pcs per colorway, not because we prefer larger orders, but because the label tooling (woven label die setup: approximately $60–$80 one-time per label design) doesn’t amortize at lower volumes.

Both of those are still catalogue styles carrying your branding. If what you need does not exist in the catalogue — your own patterns, a fabric developed to your spec, construction changes rather than label changes — that is a development project rather than a wholesale order, and it runs through our loungewear manufacturing programme instead.

Stock Wholesale (from 100 pcs)
  • Factory blank label or plain white label
  • Your hangtag added manually
  • Standard polybag (unprinted)
  • No label tooling cost
  • Fastest to market — no label lead time
  • Suitable for testing new styles
Private Label (from 200 pcs)
  • Custom woven neck label (your brand)
  • Custom care label with your compliance text
  • Branded hangtag — design supplied by you
  • Custom printed polybag at 300+ pcs
  • One-time tooling: ~$60–$80 per label design
  • Tooling reusable on all future reorders

Custom color — dyeing fabric to a Pantone or physical swatch reference — is available at both tiers but adds 7–10 days to lead time for the dye lot. The additional cost varies by color depth; dark shades (navy, black, forest) require more dye and dyeing time than pastels and neutrals. We give exact dye lot pricing at quote stage, not a blanket percentage.

Custom trim — ribbing color contrasting with the body, custom drawstring color, contrast zipper tape — is available from 200 pcs and requires trim sourcing lead time of 5–7 days added to production. Most buyers underestimate how much contrast ribbing affects the perceived quality of a loungewear set; it is one of the lower-cost customizations with one of the higher visible impacts.

From Our Floor

The most common private label mistake we see: buyers ordering a custom woven label at 100 pcs. The tooling cost is $70. At 100 units, that’s $0.70 added to every piece just in label setup — before the label itself. At 200 units, the same tooling is $0.35 per piece. We tell buyers this before they confirm, not after. If the volume doesn’t support woven labels yet, a heat transfer label at zero tooling cost achieves a clean branded look while the brand scales.

Fabric Specs and GSM Guide

Loungewear fabric selection has a direct effect on how the product is received at retail. A 180gsm French terry reads as a summer layer; a 320gsm loop-back fleece reads as a winter comfort item. The GSM range you choose affects unit cost, shipping weight, and the customer’s perception of the product more than almost any other variable. The table below covers the fabrics we stock and run regularly in our loungewear wholesale program.

Fabric GSM Composition Feel Typical Use Price Tier
French Terry (Light) 180–200gsm 80% cotton / 20% polyester Smooth face, subtle loop-back — lightweight, breathable Summer loungewear, lounge shorts, lightweight sets Entry
French Terry (Standard) 260–280gsm 80% cotton / 20% polyester Structured face, soft loop interior — most versatile weight Year-round jogger sets, midweight oversized hoodies Mid
Brushed Fleece 240–260gsm 65% cotton / 35% polyester Brushed interior — soft, slight warmth, good drape Casual sets, matching tops for boutique buyers Entry–Mid
Loop-Back Fleece (Heavy) 300–320gsm 100% cotton Substantial hand, heavier drape — cold-season weight Winter sets, oversized hoodies, gifting SKUs Mid–Premium
Ribbed Knit (Modal Blend) 220–240gsm 50% modal / 45% cotton / 5% spandex Stretchy, silky face — premium lounge feel Fitted lounge sets, wellness brand collections Premium
Waffle Knit 200–220gsm 60% cotton / 40% polyester Textured surface, thermal structure — visual interest Tops, robes, coordinated sets with texture contrast Mid

All fabric in our loungewear program is sanforized (mechanically pre-shrunk) before a single panel is cut. Untreated cotton and cotton-blend knits typically shrink 3–5% after the first home wash — a common source of post-shipment sizing complaints for buyers sourcing from mills that skip this step. Our sanforized fabric is guaranteed to 3% or less residual shrinkage after a standard cold-wash, tumble-dry-low cycle, and we test against that tolerance during pre-shipment QC.

In Practice

The most common mismatch we see at the quoting stage: buyers requesting 300gsm fabric for a “premium” lounge set targeting the $28–$35 retail price point. At that weight, the fabric cost alone pushes the unit economics to a place where the retail price doesn’t leave meaningful margin. For that price point, 260gsm French terry is the spec that works. The 300gsm option is right for a $55–$75 retail set. We say this at quote stage, not after you’ve approved a sample you can’t profitably sell.

MOQ, Pricing Tiers, Lead Time

The table below shows indicative unit cost ranges for a standard jogger set (matching top + bottom) in 260gsm 80/20 French terry, custom color-dyed, with heat transfer label. These are FOB Shanghai or Ningbo prices. Sea freight to US West Coast adds approximately $1.00–$1.60 per unit at 300-set volume. Customs duty on knit loungewear under HTS 6110 is typically 12% for cotton-dominant fabric entering the US.

Tier MOQ Unit Cost (Set) Lead Time Private Label
Sample 1–3 sets $18.50–$30/set
includes proto dev fee
7–10 days Plain label only
Small Batch 100 sets/color $5.50–$8/set 25–35 days Heat transfer from 100; woven from 200
Mid Volume 150–300 sets/color $3.80–$5.50/set 25–35 days Full private label included
Bulk 500+ sets/color $3–$4/set 30–40 days Full private label + custom packaging

Indicative starting prices — final quotation depends on fabric specification, print/embroidery method, order quantity and sample confirmation.

Prices shown for 260gsm French terry jogger set (top + bottom), custom dye, heat transfer label. Ribbed modal blend sets run 20–30% higher. Lounge shorts as separates run 35–45% lower than set pricing. All prices FOB Shanghai or Ningbo. Subject to final confirmation based on exact specs.

On Pricing Honesty

The 100-piece tier is producible and we treat it as a real order, not a trial run we deprioritize. But the unit cost at 100 pcs is not where you build a wholesale margin. It is where you test quality, fit, and sell-through before committing to the volume where the economics work. Most buyers who stay with us long-term start at 100–200 pcs, confirm the product works, and reorder at 200–500. The pricing table reflects that trajectory honestly.

How Wholesale Ordering Works

1. Inquiry & Spec Discussion

Send us your style reference, target fabric, colors, and estimated quantity. A reference garment photo, sketch, or tech pack works. We respond within 1 business day with a preliminary quote and any technical questions — fabric availability, construction questions, color feasibility.

2. Sample Production & Approval

Proto sample ready in 7–10 days. Shipped DHL at cost. Most programs require one revision round — budget 2–3 weeks from inquiry to sample approval. We do not move to bulk production without written sign-off on the approved sample.

What the Sample Round Actually Involves — and What Most Buyers Get Wrong

The sample is not a preview of the product. It is a specification contract in physical form. When you approve a sample, you are confirming that every measurement, seam construction, fabric weight, color, and trim detail on that sample is what bulk production will replicate. This sounds obvious, but in practice, most first-time wholesale buyers treat the sample as a rough guide and discover during bulk inspection that “close enough” means something different to a factory than it does to a brand owner.

The things buyers most commonly fail to check on a proto sample before approving it:

  • Waistband stretch recovery — pull it to 150% and release; does it return to original width without distortion?
  • Inseam and outseam measurements in the actual size you’ll sell, not the sample size
  • Drawstring tension — too tight is a common proto flaw that gets approved and creates bulk complaints
  • Color under incandescent light vs. daylight — heather and marl fabrics shift significantly between light sources
  • Ribbing color match to the body — even “matching” ribbing from a different fabric lot reads as mismatched in-person
  • Pocket bag depth — shallow pockets are a common negative review driver for loungewear specifically

We flag these items in the sample evaluation report we send with every proto. What we cannot do is override a buyer’s approval decision. If a spec is wrong in the approved sample and we replicate it accurately in bulk, that is not a production defect — it is a confirmed spec. The sample round is the moment to be precise. Bulk production cannot be retroactively adjusted without cost on both sides.

One specific note for matching sets: approve the top and bottom together, under the same light, at the same time. Approving them separately on different days — common when samples arrive in two shipments — introduces color perception variance that leads to disputes later. Request both pieces in the same sample shipment.

3. Deposit & Production Booking

30% deposit books the production slot. Balance due before shipment. T/T is standard; PayPal accepted for sample invoices. Production line is assigned within 48 hours of deposit receipt, and we confirm the production schedule in writing.

4. Production & Quality Control

25–35 day standard production run. Inline QC at 30% and 70% completion. Pre-shipment inspection report with measurement audit, colorfastness test results, and photo documentation issued before balance invoice. For matching sets, we run a color comparison check between the top and bottom lots before final packing.

5. Export Documentation & Shipping

Full export documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin. We coordinate with your nominated freight forwarder. Can consolidate loungewear orders with other categories — joggers and blankets, for example, ship in the same container on the same FOB terms and reduce per-unit freight cost.

Selected Client Projects

European & US Athleisure Brand — Recycled Sweatpants & Co-ord Sets

An athleisure brand selling into Europe and the US makes its recycled-fabric casual sets and cuffed joggers with us, from 100 pieces a style, fully private label with custom outer packaging. Production stays in our own GRS-certified plant, with QC at cutting, sewing, and finishing to hold export quality.

Outcome: The recycled fabric and certification gave them the paperwork they needed to get into mainstream offline retail.

Our Terms, In Writing

Most factories make you email three times to learn their MOQ. Here is everything, up front.

TermWhat we commit to
MOQ100 pieces per colour / design on fabric dyed to your colour — each colour needs its own dye run, so each colour carries its own 100. Sizes are mixed freely within those 100: no size multiplier, XS to XXL in one run.

(Custom woven labels need 200 pcs per colorway — label looms carry fixed setup costs. Screen-printed labels work at lower runs.)
PricingFrom $5.50/pc FOB. We don’t publish one fixed unit price — fabric, weight, decoration, colourway count and packaging all move the number. Send us your style and target quantity and we quote every tier (100 / 300 / 500 / 1,000) in one email, so you can see exactly what scaling saves you before committing.
SamplingSample fee applies per style, itemized on your quote.
Bulk production28–38 days after sample approval, including fabric sourcing.
Reorders10–15 days. This is where working with the actual factory pays off.
Payment30% deposit, 70% before shipment.
ShippingFOB Shanghai or Ningbo, or DDP door-to-door. We quote both, so you can compare true landed cost — not just the factory-gate price. Our factory is in Suzhou, Jiangsu; both ports are within a short inland haul.
CertificationsOEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and GRS 4.0. Certificates and our business licence sent on request.
Fabric ShrinkageAll loungewear fabric is sanforized (pre-shrunk) before cutting — residual shrinkage guaranteed 3% or less after a standard cold-wash, tumble-dry-low cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Private label loungewear — meaning your own woven neck label, hangtag, and custom polybag — starts at 200 pieces per colorway. That threshold exists because label tooling (woven label die setup: approximately $60–$80 one-time per label design) doesn’t amortize sensibly below 200 units. At 100–199 pcs, we can add a heat transfer label at zero tooling cost, which achieves a clean branded look without the woven label investment. At 300+ pcs per colorway, full custom packaging — branded poly mailer, tissue paper, box insert — becomes cost-effective. The tooling cost is paid once and reused across all future reorders, so it front-loads at the start of a brand relationship and disappears from unit economics on reorders.

Matching sets require that the top and bottom come from the same dye lot — we enforce this by cutting and dyeing the top and bottom fabric together as a single batch, not as separate production runs that get matched after the fact. The practical implication: if you order a 200-piece set, we need 200 units worth of both the top and bottom fabric in the same dye run. Mixing dye lots between a top and bottom is how color drift happens. This problem shows up most on heather greys and dusty pinks, where small dye lot variations are visible side by side. We flag this operationally on every matching set order — it adds coordination overhead at the fabric sourcing stage but it’s the only way to guarantee the sets look correct at retail.

Yes. We ship FOB Shanghai or Ningbo as default, or CIF on orders above 500 pieces. For US buyers, sea freight reaches Long Beach or New York in 18–25 days; air freight takes 5–7 days for smaller or urgent orders. For EU buyers, sea freight reaches Rotterdam or Hamburg in 22–30 days; FORM A certificate of origin is available for GSP duty preference on qualifying orders. We provide the full export documentation package — commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin — needed for customs clearance. We don’t act as your customs broker, but we can refer you to freight forwarders our current US and EU clients use.

Customization options scale with order volume. At 100 pcs: custom colorway from existing fabric stock, heat transfer label. At 200 pcs: woven neck label, custom care label, hangtag, contrast drawstring color. At 300 pcs: custom embroidery or screen print, contrast ribbing color, custom waistband construction. At 500+ pcs: branded polybag, tissue paper, custom box for gifting SKUs, access to custom fabric blends with a minimum fabric run. Style modifications — silhouette changes, pocket design, hem finish — are available at any volume but require a sample round regardless of quantity. We don’t quote customization as a fixed menu because what’s feasible depends on the base style; we confirm at quote stage.

We don’t accept returns on bulk production that matches the approved sample and confirmed spec sheet. That position is standard for OEM manufacturing and it’s why sample approval is non-negotiable before bulk production begins. If bulk production deviates from the approved sample on a measurable spec — garment measurements outside tolerance, colorfastness below the agreed grade, GSM outside the ±5% range — we remedy at our cost through replacement production or price adjustment. Buyer change-of-mind after production is complete is not a basis for return. We state this plainly because vague return policies generate disputes at inspection time; a clear policy prevents that conversation entirely.

Yes — all fabric in our loungewear program is sanforized (mechanically pre-shrunk) before a single panel is cut. Untreated cotton and cotton-blend knits typically shrink 3–5% after the first home wash, which is a common reason buyers get size complaints from their end customers weeks after delivery. Sanforizing compacts the fabric to its stable dimension under controlled tension and heat before cutting, so the garment holds its shape through normal washing. We guarantee 3% or less residual shrinkage on a standard cold-wash, tumble-dry-low cycle, and this tolerance is part of our pre-shipment QC check.
