Custom Blanket Manufacturing — OEM, Private Label & Wholesale

We offer three B2B supply models for custom blankets — matched to your volume, business model and branding requirements.

OEM Manufacturing

You send us the spec — fabric, GSM, size, colour, logo, packaging — and we build it. Our team handles samples, revisions and bulk production from one factory.

Private Label

Pick from our stock range and add your brand. No tooling cost, samples in 3–5 days — fastest path from idea to shelf.

Bulk Wholesale

Container-volume orders for importers, distributors and chain retailers. Consistent specs batch to batch, competitive FOB pricing.

Custom Blanket Types We Manufacture

We manufacture four core custom blanket types — all available with full OEM service, OEKO-TEX® certification and GRS-certified rPET fabric options.

Custom Fleece Blankets

Coral fleece, polar fleece, anti-pilling fleece and double-sided micro-mink blankets. Light, soft, and our highest-volume blanket type — popular for promotional programmes, baby ranges, retail gifts and custom throw blankets.

Custom Sherpa Blankets

Plush micro-mink face with sherpa (textured fleece) reverse — the premium two-texture reversible blanket. Popular for branded merchandise, gifting and home décor collections. Wholesale fleece blanket buyers rate this as our best-seller.

Custom Flannel Blankets

Woven brushed flannel blankets — cotton, polyester or blended. Structured, flat-weave surface with soft napped finish. Ideal for premium bedding programmes, baby cot blankets and branded retail collections.

Custom Plush Blankets

Short to long-pile plush — sherpa-weight micro-mink through to rabbit-fur-style pile. Buyers consistently tell us this is the product that wins at gifting and premium retail.

Every Detail Customised — What You Can Specify

Our OEM service covers every aspect of the finished blanket — raw material through to retail-ready packaged product.

Custom Size

Any dimensions from baby (75×100cm) to oversized king (220×240cm)

Custom Weight

800 GSM (lightweight travel) to 3,000 GSM (premium luxury)

Custom Colour

Pantone-matched solid dyeing with lab dip service included. Plan for 1–2 correction rounds on critical matches — pastel and grey shades are the most commonly adjusted, particularly on fleece substrates where dye uptake varies by GSM.

Custom Print

Sublimation print, reactive print, all-over print — unlimited design

Custom Logo & Branding

Woven label, embroidered logo, sublimation-printed label, heat transfer — custom blanket with logo options included in OEM unit price

Custom Packaging

Polybag, gift box, sleeve box, PVC window box, hang tag — all available

Custom Edging

Overlock, hemmed edge, satin binding, sherpa binding, fringe

Eco Fabric Choice

Selected Client Projects

Names are withheld at the clients’ request. Everything below is from real production runs.

Amazon Home-Goods Brand — Multi-Marketplace Blankets

We’ve made blankets for this Amazon home-goods seller for years, supplying their US and EU stores. The range runs 200 to 450 gsm, from throws to oversized bed blankets, and it’s all private label: their logo, their hangtags, their packaging. Materials are CPSIA-compliant and we send third-party test reports on both the fabric and the finished goods, which is what keeps the listings clear on Amazon. Orders go out folded or vacuum-rolled depending on the job, with the customs paperwork and tracking handled.

Outcome: Ten-plus years in, they reorder on a steady cycle and run several marketplace best-sellers on our production.

European Home-Décor Brand — Recycled Flannel Throws

This European soft-furnishing brand came to us after their old supplier kept missing on shrinkage, and freight was eating the margin on small runs. We make their recycled flannel throws, and with our flannel experience the shrinkage stays consistent batch to batch. Small SKUs are fine here. Samples take 7 to 12 days, bulk 30 to 45.

Outcome: Steadier quality and low minimums let them put out several niche throw designs and carry more in store.

Hospitality Procurement Group — Custom Recycled Blankets

A hospitality procurement group needed blankets that survive constant commercial washing, carry full eco-certification, and match hotel brand standards. We run them in 180 to 320 gsm recycled flannel and keep the quality even across batches, since these get washed hard. Every shipment includes the GRS and OEKO-TEX certificates their audit asks for. We take the larger volumes but keep a channel open for small urgent restocks.

Outcome: A supply they can push through audit without trouble, plus quick restocks when a property runs short.

Frequently Asked Questions — Custom Blanket Manufacturing

A custom blanket manufacturer produces blankets to your specification: size, fabric, GSM, colour, logo and retail packaging. Unlike a catalogue supplier, the factory handles the full OEM path, from spec review and sample development through bulk production and export documents. That matters when the blanket has to match a brand’s size range or a retailer’s packaging rules. It isn’t chosen from a stock list. The 100-piece minimum applies per design, so a first collection can test two or three designs before committing to a full programme. Samples take 7 to 10 days and bulk runs 30 to 40 days after approval.

The minimum is 100 pieces per design, which means 100 finished blankets in one design rather than a container-load commitment. Lower quantities may be possible on private label orders that use stock fabrics, because no custom fabric run is needed. The threshold exists because cutting, finishing and inspection carry fixed setup regardless of run length. It isn’t a marketing number that multiplies at order stage. For a first collection, the practical route is two or three designs at 100 each and add the rest once sell-through is proven. Each design is quoted separately, so you can see the per-design cost before deciding how many to start with.

Yes. Private label branding covers woven labels, embroidered logos, sublimation-printed labels, heat transfers, hang tags and retail packaging such as polybags, gift boxes, sleeve boxes or window boxes. Branding options are included at no additional development charge, which is unusual at 100 pieces; most factories treat a woven label as a separate setup. Logo method follows the blanket type: embroidery sits well on fleece and sherpa, while sublimation labels suit polyester plush and flannel. Placement and size are confirmed on the sample. The logo is approved on the actual pile, not a flat mock-up. If the brand mark has fine detail, ask for a print or transfer rather than a woven label.

Four constructions cover the range: fleece (coral, polar or anti-pilling), sherpa with a plush face and sherpa reverse, flannel in woven brushed cotton or polyester, and plush in short or long pile. All four can carry OEKO-TEX certification, and fleece and plush are available in GRS-certified rPET. The choice usually comes down to hand-feel and price point rather than category: flannel for a woven look, sherpa for loft, plush for a dense retail hand, fleece for volume and gifting. Pile height, GSM and backing are specified per design, so two sherpa blankets from different suppliers can feel nothing alike. Tell us the retail channel and target price and we narrow it to two or three constructions to sample.

Yes. The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate covers fleece, sherpa, flannel and plush, and it tests components including fabric, thread, labels and dyes, not only the shell. GRS 4.0 is available for blankets made from recycled polyester. Both certificates are publicly verifiable and travel with every sample shipment, so a retailer can check the claim at product level. If your account needs a specific certificate scope, tell us at quoting stage so the right document is issued with the order. Certificate copies and the business licence are sent on request, and the numbers can be looked up in the issuers’ public databases.

Samples take 7 to 10 business days, slightly longer than a fabric swatch because the blanket is finished and packed. Bulk runs 30 to 40 days after sample approval and order confirmation. The number that matters is the in-store date, not the production window: tell us the target date at enquiry stage and we work backwards through sampling, bulk and freight. A launch that needs goods in hand by a fixed date usually fails on the freight leg, not the sewing line, so the earlier the date is on the table, the more realistic the plan. Custom packaging and a new size both sit in the sample stage, which is where the first week or two can be lost.

Three models, and the difference is who owns the specification. OEM builds to your spec, from fabric and GSM through logo and packaging, with samples in 7 to 10 days. Private label takes an existing blanket from the stock range and puts your brand on it, with no tooling cost and samples in 3 to 5 days. Bulk wholesale is container volume on a repeatable spec, usually for importers and chain retailers. Most first-time brands start with private label to test the market. They move to OEM once GSM, size and packaging are settled. The model also changes the minimum and the lead time, so it is worth choosing deliberately rather than defaulting to the cheapest first quote.

Flannel runs 600 to 1,500 GSM, fleece 800 to 2,000, sherpa 1,200 to 2,500 and plush 1,000 to 3,000. Weight follows use. An 800 GSM throw feels light and packs down for retail and gifting. Anything above 1,500 GSM reads as a winter product and costs more to ship, because freight is weight-driven. Pick the weight before the artwork, because a heavier blanket changes the fold, the carton and the freight quote. If hand-feel is the deciding factor, sample two weights rather than one; the difference is easier to feel than to describe. Tell us the market and retail price point and we narrow it to two or three options.

Five sizes cover most programmes: baby 75×100cm, throw 130×150, single 150×200, queen 200×230 and king 220×240. Any of those can be adjusted, and a fully custom dimension is quoted the same way as a standard size. A size change doesn’t add a separate minimum. It does change fabric consumption per unit, so ask for the quote at your actual dimension rather than scaling from the nearest standard size. Packaging is sized to the finished blanket, which is why the size has to be settled before the box artwork. Give dimensions in centimetres with a tolerance, not just a retail name.

Fleece and plush can be made from GRS 4.0 certified recycled polyester, and all four blanket types carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100. European and Australian buyers working to a sustainability brief request rPET most often. Two practical points: recycled fibre takes colour slightly differently from virgin polyester, so approve a lab dip instead of assuming the same shade; and certificate copies travel with each shipment so the retailer can verify the claim at product level. The rPET option doesn’t change the 100-piece minimum, but confirm fabric availability before the size is finalised. If the sustainability claim is central to the listing, send the wording your retailer needs at quoting stage.

Bulk that doesn’t match the approved sample is remade or refunded, not discounted. Inspection runs at three points: inline during sewing, again at 30% completion, and once more before the cartons are sealed, with pre-shipment inspection available on request. AQL 2.5 is the acceptance level, and defects above it trigger the remake. Revised samples are free if the first round misses, so the piece you sign off is the one production is cut against. If your buyer uses a third-party inspector, raise it at quoting stage so the schedule accounts for the visit. A discount on a mismatched lot is rarely worth the return rate it creates.

Custom blankets start at $2.80 per piece FOB at the 100-piece minimum. The unit price moves with GSM, finished size, logo method and packaging: an 800gsm throw and a 3,000gsm oversized king don’t share a cost base. Sizes run from baby 75×100cm to king 220×240cm. Ask for a quote at the size you’ll actually reorder, rather than sampling a smaller throw and scaling later. Logo options are included in the OEM unit price; custom packaging is quoted separately. Samples take 7 to 10 days and bulk runs 30 to 40 days after approval. Ask for the tier you plan to reorder at, not only the first run.

Yes. Solid colours are matched to a Pantone reference, and lab dip development is included rather than charged as an extra. The lab dip is what you approve, not the Pantone chip, because the shade shifts once it lands on polyester pile. Recycled polyester takes colour slightly differently from virgin fibre, so a recycled programme should approve its own dip rather than reusing the virgin shade. If the colour has to match an existing product or a retailer’s standard, send a physical sample with the Pantone number. Lab dip approval happens before bulk dyeing, so it sits at the front of the schedule rather than being squeezed in after cutting.

Revised samples are made at no charge if the first proto misses on fit, size or finish. A sample round takes 7 to 10 business days, and revised rounds follow the same clock. Bulk only starts after you sign off the sample and pay the deposit, so the approved piece is the production reference. If the bulk then drifts from it, the order is remade or refunded rather than shipped with a credit note. List every change in one revision request rather than sending comments in three batches. Each round costs a week. Approve the lab dip and the sample together so neither holds up the other.

Packaging options include a printed polybag, gift box, sleeve box, PVC window box and hang tag. Logo options are included in the OEM unit price; packaging is quoted as its own line. Packaging has to be sized to the finished blanket, so settle the size first and then commission the artwork. A 130×150 throw and a 220×240 king need different box dimensions, and changing the size after the packaging spec is agreed means redoing it. Tell us the retail channel at quoting stage: a gift box for boutique retail and a polybag for marketplace shipping are different builds. Artwork and size confirmation happen before the cartons are ordered.
