1. Ask who owns the production line. Ask directly: “Is production in your own facility, or subcontracted?” A factory answers with a location and can put you on a video call from the floor. A trading company changes the subject.

2. Ask how they lock the fill in place. This is the weighted-blanket-specific question. Beads and pellets migrate over time unless the construction stops them — baffle-box or channel stitching, with a stitch spec tight enough to hold the fill. If the answer is vague, expect the shifting-and-clumping complaint your customers will eventually leave in a review.

3. Ask if every unit is weighed, or just a sample. A weighted blanket that’s 15% off its labeled weight isn’t doing its job. Ask what the tolerance is and how it’s checked — ours is ±3%, checked on every unit.

4. Ask about cooling shell options. Overheating is the top complaint in this category. If a supplier only offers one shell fabric with no breathability option, that’s a gap your customers will notice in the summer.

5. Verify certifications, don’t admire them. OEKO-TEX® and GRS certificates carry numbers you can check in the issuers’ public databases in two minutes. We publish ours and expect buyers to look them up — see our certificates.

We sew one proto sample in-house at a flat fee, credited against bulk orders above 100 pieces. Turnaround 10-14 days. You evaluate weight, shell feel, and stitching before any bulk commitment.

Your approved sample’s weight becomes the production reference. Bulk units are checked against it individually — if a batch drifts outside ±3%, it doesn’t ship as-is.
